I live off the grid primarily but for my well pump i have to use a generator which is not green energy. i also occasionally need to augment the solar system with the generator. green energy as we know it today cannot supply the energy requirements of the homes that exist now even without the huge requirements of AI. In reality solar is very environmentally unfriendly. mining the lithium and other minerals for the batteries is atmospheric polluting. Disposing of the old panels is problematic. so far lithium ion batteries are not being recycled so that makes them a hazardous waste. then there is the problem of worn out windmill parts that clutter up areas not to mention the damage done to vast areas of ocean disrupted by their construction. what i have said here only touches the surface of the issues involved in “green energy”.
